Typically, clients will do their own validation within this process. We work with clients throughout these various processes, with years of experience adapting to various medical clients and their specific requirements.

Medical devices utilize a wide array of specialized materials, many of which have low surface energy that makes ink adhesion challenging. Our New Product Introduction (NPI) process includes comprehensive material testing using dyne testing, plus surface preparation. We routinely and successfully print on complex substrates, including:

• Plastics and Polymers: Polyether ether ketone (PEEK), polyurethane, and polycarbonate.
• Elastomers: Medical-grade silicone and thermoplastic elastomers (TPE).
• Metals: Stainless steel and titanium.

We understand that speed to market is crucial in the medical device industry. While timelines vary based on device complexity and validation requirements, our dedicated New Product Introduction (NPI) team typically turns around initial prototypes and sample runs within 2 to 4 weeks. We work closely with your engineering teams to rapidly iterate on artwork, cliché (plate) depths, and pad geometries, ensuring we meet your launch milestones without compromising quality.

Our entire pad printing operation is built around the strict quality management systems required for manufacturing. We operate within certified frameworks and execute printing within controlled, clean environments when required. From strict lot control and traceability of inks and solvents to documented line clearance procedures, we ensure every step of the New Product Introduction (NPI) and full-scale production process meets the highest medical-grade standards.
